The Caño de Provincial is a small river with crystal clear waters that is found in the rainforest of Amazonas State, Venezuela. Its waters come from springs that sprout among the silica sand. The pH of its water is acidic (5.0 – 5.5) and with a very low amount of dissolved minerals.
In this Caño inhabit many species of fish appreciated by aquarists worldwide such as the red stripe dwarf chiclid and the pencil fish Nannostomus anduzei.
