Green Dartfish have an outstanding green color that seems to glow when the light hits them. In the wild, they love to crawl over tufts of Thurnia sphaerocephala and the underwater leaves of aquatic plants in search of food.
They pick on the periphyton, but have a special preference for picking on the decaying sections of leaves and stems, especially the ones of the Montrichardia arborescens and Urospatha sagittifolia plants.
They cover a medium territory in which they search for food, but are hard to spot as they are like chameleons that change their color to resemble the substrate they are on.
