An Amazon leaffish (Monocirrhus polyacanthus), takes shelter in Amazon
trash. Most of us may think that the Amazon is still a pristine, untouched
place, well it’s not. Ivan Mikolji, a river explorer and audiovisual artist
explains… “In our numerous expeditions to the Amazon, first day is usually
“cleanup day” where we pick up the trash before the photo and video shoots.
We spend hours cleaning not only the outside of the rivers but also
underwater, its rare not to find trash.” He thinks the best way to help in
the long run is through education.
