Since I was fortunate enough to see a couple of times Ivan’s photographic and documentary work, I have been certain that there was another way of seeing and knowing our biodiversity and aquatic ecosystems. From that moment, the knowledge of how the conservation of fish and other aquatic organisms is carried out has become a great ally.

Mikolji’s photos, videos and underwater observations show us valuable information about the behavior, the biology and the ecology of these aquatic organisms, which in many cases are entirely new. Every time I watch his images I learn new facts about them. Being even nicer because I can enjoy them because of their aesthetics. Ivan’s work is a clear example of art and science that will last through time…

Desde que tuve la fortuna hace varios años de ver los trabajos fotográficos y documentales de Iván, sentí la certeza de que habia otra forma de ver y conocer nuestra biodiversidad y los ecosistemas acuaticos. A partir de ese momento, el conocimiento y la conservación de los peces y otros organismos acuáticos tuvieron un gran aliado.

Las fotos, videos y las observaciones subacuáticas de Mikolji nos muestran datos muy valiosos sobre el comportamiento, biología y ecología de estos organismos acuaticos, que en muchos casos son totalmente novedosos. Ver estas imagenes es aprender todo el tiempo y más agradable es aun si las podemos disfrutar dada su estetica. Los trabajos de Ivan son un claro ejemplo de esto: arte y ciencia que perduraran durante mucho tiempo…
